Adopt-An-Animal Program

The San Antonio Zoo is home to more than 3,500 animals representing 600 species of invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. You can help us provide for the care and feeding of the Zoo’s living collection by sponsoring an animal for one year through our Adopt-an-Animal program.

You can adopt any animal in the Zoo. In return for your donation, we will send you or your gift recipient the sponsorship package that accompanies that particular gift level.

The Adopt-an-Animal program is perfect for many occasions: birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, businesses, school and club fundraising programs, and more.

November Adoption Special

YOUR San Antonio Zoo is WILD about our refurbished aquarium and the new Sting Ray exhibit. So take a break from the holiday rush and shop early with a special tropical adoption package. During the month of November, you can adopt a sting ray with a special Adoption Package. For just $50 you receive a CERTIFICATE of adoption - personalized with your own SPECIAL MESSAGE, a FACT SHEET about the animal, an 8 x 10 COLOR PHOTO (perfect for framing), acknowledgment on our Adopt-An-Animal Board for one year, and a plush sting ray.

Adoptions last one year and are renewable.
Due to their popularity, some animals may be subject to concurrent adoptions.
No ownership rights are transferred.
Any animal we currently have is available for adoption.
