These American White Pelicans are some of the largest birds in America! These pelicans can hold up to three gallons of water in their bills! Come by the Zoo and see them for yourself! Don't forget to submit your favorite Zoo photo to ecastillo@sazoo.org for a chance to have your photo showcased! One entry per person, per month please.
Baby boom at the Zoo!
 We’re happy to announce the arrival of three new additions to YOUR San Antonio Zoo! Eight-month-old clouded leopard “Indira” came to the Zoo from the Nashville Zoo and is on exhibit in the Cat Grotto. Visit the Africa Live! aviary to catch a glimpse of the baby colobus monkey, who was born on October 12th. And, stop by the Francois langur exhibit to see the oh, so cute and very ORANGE langur born on October 20th. Come visit these little ones soon, they grow fast!
Breakfast feast and rhino treats!
 On December 15th, join us for a truly unique experience at our Breakfast at a Beastly Hour program! Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the Riverview Restaurant before your behind the scenes journey to the rhino exhibit! Make treats so delectable only a rhino can't resist! Then go inside the rhino yard to scatter the treats before they come out for the day! Registration is underway!

Visit the Moroccan Coast for a photographic safari!
 Join Steve McCusker, Director of the San Antonio Zoo, and partake in stunning views of the Sahara Desert, the Atlas Mountains, the Moroccan Coast, and a Jebel Toubkal Summit Trek extension! Zootennial Plaza is underway!
 As we look forward and prepare for our centennial in 2014, some exciting changes are taking place! Construction on Zootennial Plaza has already started. This new plaza will feature a centralized family gathering area for casual and reserved occasions, a custom-designed carousel, and an upscale restaurant. It's an exciting time for the Zoo, as we prepare for this wonderful new addition!
