Breakfast at a Beastly Hour

Want to see what goes on behind-the-scenes? Enjoy a delicious breakfast, and let the keepers show you where they work and how they interact with wild animals.

Cost per person: $20/members; $25/nonmembers; children half price

Come see where the wild things are in the quiet of the evenings. Zoo staff will take you on an after-hours tour to see how resident animals “let down their hair,” after the crowds depart. You’ll get a chance to hear the hyenas “laugh,” and the lions roar.

Off grounds adventure for families with children in 3rd grade and up

Cost per person: $10 - includes entrance fee into the natural area

If you love spending time enjoying nature, you don’t want to miss the Zoo’s trip to Government Canyon. Join a Zoo naturalist for a fun filled nature hike through one of San Antonio’s best kept secrets and experience first hand how to identify wildlife using only tracks and other signs they leave behind. We will also learn to identify native trees and plants. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to enjoy nature.

Cost per person: Members: $15/adult, $8/child; Nonmembers: $24/adult, $15/child

"Jambo!" Bring the family to the Zoo for an African safari experience. We will learn all about how Kenyan culture, makes tribal masks, and experience an African story circle. We will also go on safari and visit the animals from the Lion King.

Group Roars and Snores
6:30 pm to 8:30 am
Check for available dates on our website.

Cost: $35 per person, groups of 20 to 40

Bring your scout troop, school group, church
group or neighbors for the wildest slumber party
in town. Evening activities include animal
presentations, owl pellet dissection or
discovery tracks, night tour, evening snack and
a bedtime movie. Morning brings a continental
breakfast and a special keeper presentation.
Enjoy the rest of the day exploring the Zoo.
