Gather a car load of friends and meet Zoo staff at the pier in Rockport. After lunch (which is included), we’ll join a naturalist on the boat for a 3-hour adventure in search of whooping cranes in the wild.

Enchanted Evening Tours

Come see where the wild things are in the quiet of the evening. Zoo staff will take you on an after hours tour to see how resident animals “let down their hair” after the day’s crowds depart. We may even get a chance to hear the hyenas “laugh” and the lions roar.

Walk On The Wild Side

No one likes to brag more on their animals, staff and the Zoo than the management staff. Join the senior staff of the Bird Department on a walking tour to discover what’s uniquely special in their collection.

This 90 - minute program provides children and adults with the unique opportunity to meet with a member of the Zoo staff and engage in a question and answer session designed to introduce participants to the wonderful world of animals and zoo keeping. Each program includes lunch, a discussion session with a Zoo employee and a special animal encounter.

Tiny Tot Family Campouts

Don’t hesitate, this popular program fills quickly. Bring the family to a great campout experience inside the Zoo. Complete with roasting hot dogs on an open fire, sleeping outside in a tent and, of course, animal encounters and evening Zoo tour, this is a program not easily forgotten.

Wild Texas Campout
Families of all ages

Nonmembers: $45/adult; $25/child

Join education staff for a roaring good time camping out at a local state park. Bring your gear, set-up your campsite and gather around the campfire for a picnic meal, songs, stories and time in nature. After breakfast, join the park’s naturalist on a special tour. Price includes all entry fees.
