Off grounds adventure for families
with children

Carpooling from the Zoo’s train station parking lot at 8:30
Cost per person: $10, includes entrance fee into the natural area
Families, join Zoo staff for an amazing
adventure on the wetland trail at Mitchell
Lake Audubon Center. Meet with a
naturalist who will share stories and
information about native Texas plants
and animals. Then explore the wetland
looking for signs of wildlife while
identifying
various birds, insects and
plants along
the way. Join us and
explore a place
where nature renews itself.
 
Enchanted Evening Tours
September 26 - Adults Only - 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
October 18 - Adults Only - 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM
Cost per person: $17/members;
$25/non-members
Come see where the wild things are in the quiet of the evenings. Zoo staff will take you on an after-hours tour to see how resident animals “let down their hair” after the day’s crowds depart. We’ll get a chance to hear the hyenas “laugh” and the lions roar.

Family Campouts
Families with children ages 3 to 5
October 3, Oct. 17, October 24 - 5:30PM - 8:30 AM
Cost per person: Members, $35adults, $17/child
Nonmembers: $45/adult, $25/child
Don’t hesitate, this popular program fills quickly. Bring the family to a great campout experience complete with roasting hot dogs on an open fire, sleeping outside in a tent and, of course, animal encounters and evening tour.

Snores

6:30 PM – 8:30 AM
Cost per person: $35/members

Come campout in the Nature Spot and
enjoy a fun family sleepover focusing
on animals of the night. Gather around
the fire to roast marshmallows, explore
traits of nocturnal animals, meet some
animal ambassadors, and hear great campfire tales.

Group Roars and Snores
6:30 PM to 8:30 AM the following morning
Cost: $30 per person, groups of 20 to 40
Bring your scout group, school group,
churchgroup or neighbors for the
wildest slumber party in town. Evening
activities include animal presentations,
owl pellet dissection, night tour, evening
snack and a bedtime movie. Morning
brings a continental breakfast and a
special keeper presentation. Enjoy the
rest of the day exploring the Zoo.
