These up-close hour-long adventures include a meet-the-keeper experience with an expert from the Zoo’s animal care team, a chance to go behind-the-scenes (or beyond the fence in some cases) to visit animal areas, watch animal training in action and see how we care for our amazing animals on a daily basis.
Up-Close & Personal: $75 per member; $95 per non-member (includes Zoo admission) Okapi – We'll join an expert keeper for a meet & greet with one of Africa's most elusive creatures-the okapi. Hippo – Join us for a really BIG opportunity to go behind-the-scenes with one of Africans’ most dangerous animals! White Rhino – You'll get up close and see eye-to-eye with one of Africa's largest mammals and may even get close enough to touch!
Backstage Pass:
$35 per member; $50 per non-member (includes Zoo admission) The Reptile House - Venture behind-the-scenes to the famous Reptile House and marvel at venomous and non-venomous reptiles alike including mambas, vipers, cobras, and one of our favorite reptiles – the Komodo dragon! Primates – Join us for a personal guided tour of our primate exhibits with a keeper and create a special primate food treat! Aquarium – From sharks to sea horses, take a sneak peek where guests are not allowed and see how the Zoo's aquarium operates 24 hours a day.

*All Behind-the-Scenes opportunities are available for guests ages 5 and up; one adult for every two children (under 12) is required. Space is limited to 6 participants and reservations are made on a first-come-first-served basis. Tours must meet minimums to hold - either four people or $200, whichever is greater. The Zoo also reserves the right to end a program early if participants do not follow program guidelines.
