Maguari Stork (Ciconia maguar)

Listen VERY carefully; as Maguari storks are mute; unlike most other birds, they have no loud call.  Instead, these silent birds make a wheezing noise when threatened and clack their beaks to make themselves heard!

An what about their beaks?  Contrary to popular belief, their beaks are not for carrying newborn babies; they are for catching their next meal.  With long legs for wading, and a fearsome beak for fishing, Maguari storks show fish no mercy!
